Atkins diet induction phase

BY BeHealthyForum.com

Induction is the first phase of the Atkins diet.

Althow you can start form any phase in the atkins diet,
it is recomended that you start the Atkins diet with this phase.

This phase is the strictest phase of the Atkins Diet, marked by a severe cutback of carbohydrates to 20 grams per day.

The induction phase can last minimum 14 days in which it is expected that you will lose 10%25 of the excess weight.

Induction phase is designed to jump-start your weight loss, end your carb cravings and stabilize blood sugar levels.
It will switch your body chemistry to burning primarily fat for energy rather than burning carbohydrates
Atkins works by restricting the amount of carbohydrates you consume. The body first burns carbohydrates for fuel. However, when you reduce your intake of carbs, your body primarily burns fat.

You are ready to move on to the second Phase (Ongoing Weight Loss) if you are close to your goal weight. Untill then you should stay in the induction phase.
